Dining Plans are required for students living in Residence Halls and Glen Mor apartments are automatically bundled with their Housing contracts. They are primarily intended for use at our two Residential Restaurants to help students best build a connection with fellow students in their cohort at UCR. They also include an allotment of Dining Dollars to use at Dining venues throughout campus.

Highlander Gold Unlimited

The Highlander Gold Unlimited dining plan is designed to cater to the busy schedules of college students, offering unlimited meal swipes to our residential restaurants and 150 dining dollars giving you the flexibility to explore various culinary options on campus. Our residential restaurants offer a cozy environment with diverse food options, perfect for a meal, a quick snack, socializing with friends, or a convenient spot to collaborate on class projects. As a bonus, you'll receive 6 guest passes per quarter, allowing you to share the joy of great food with friends and family.

What you get:

• Unlimited Meal Swipes (Enjoy as many meals as you want throughout the day!)
• 150 Dining Dollars (per quarter)
• 6 Guest Passes (per quarter)

Highlander Blue 150

The Highlander Blue 150 dining plan offers the ideal blend of affordability and convenience, providing you with 150 meal swipes accompanied by 100 Dining Dollars and 4 guest passes per quarter.

What you get:

• 150 Meal Swipes per quarter (equivalent to 14 meals a week)
• 100 Dining Dollars (per quarter) 
• 4 Guest Swipes (per quarter)

Cost: $692 per month

Not available to students living in the Residence Halls.

What you get:

• 50 Meal Swipes per quarter
• 210 Dining Dollars per quarter

Cost: $897 per quarter / $2,690 per year

Scotty's Apartment Plan

Some students may want a dining plan that is exclusively composed of Dining Dollars. If that best fits your needs, then this plan is for you. Dining Dollars roll over quarter-to-quarter and expire in June at the end of the academic year. As a bonus, you receive 1 free meal swipe per quarter to be used at Glasgow or Lothian Residential Restaurant for opting into this plan! Not available to students living in the Residence Halls.

What you get:

• $300 Dining Dollars per quarter
• 1 guest swipe per quarter

Cost: $300 per quarter / $900 per year

The Community Dining Plan 25 

The Community Dining Plan 25 is an excellent choice for students residing off-campus or in campus apartments, seeking the convenience of a meal plan without the obligation. This plan uniquely combines the flexibility of residential Meal Swipes, providing a hassle-free dining solution. You have the option to purchase a new Community Dining Plan once the current one is depleted. Meal swipes roll over from quarter to quarter and expire at the end of the academic year in August. Students can purchase the Community Dining Plan online or pay in person by visiting the Highlander Service Station.

Request a Dining Plan Change

The Dining Plan selected is for the entire academic year. Residents are permitted to request a one-time upgrade of their Dining Plan at the mid-point of Fall Quarter, from October 28 to November 8, 2024. The requested changes will go into effect in the following Winter Quarter. Dining Plan change request forms can be obtained from and submitted to the Resident Services Office (RSO)

The Dining Plan may not be transferred, canceled, carried forward, or refunded except as allowed for in the terms of this Contract.  A Dining Plan Change Request Form needs to be completed, and all instructions on documentation need to be followed. Submit a Dining Plan Change Request Form at your respective RSO. Residence Hall and Glen Mor residents must have a Dining Plan - please allow two weeks for your request to be processed. 

Dining Dollars 

You can buy Dining Dollars as you need them, and at a discount too! Purchase $115 Dining Dollars for $100 even (that’s 15% off). 

Dining Dollars roll over quarter-to-quarter and expire in June at the end of the academic year.

No, meal swipes do not carry over from quarter to quarter; They are replenished at the start of each academic quarter.

Dining Dollars are additional currency that you can buy as you need. Dining Dollars roll over quarter-to-quarter and expire in June at the end of the academic year.
