Dining Plan Options

Dining Plans for the 2022-2023 Academic Year are here!

UCR Students who are eligible for a Dining Plan: 

  • Students living in a Residence Hall
  • Students living in a Campus Apartment or Oban Family Housing
  • Students commuting from off-campus 
  • UCR Faculty and Staff

Campus Dining Plans help you save money while getting the most out of the dozen-plus delicious, nutritious, and sustainable Dining Venues on campus! UCR dining features healthy, high-quality, and multicultural menus that are inclusive of the full range of diet preferences, from vegan and vegetarian to gluten-friendly and halal. Our menus are made fresh daily in small batches by chefs from our talented culinary team.

Students living in Residence Halls and campus apartments can sign up for a dining plan by completing the Dining Plan Request form below and emailing it to housinginfo@ucr.edu or visiting your Resident Services Office. Residence Hall and Glen Mor residents are required to have a traditional Dining Plan. Please see the dining plan options below.

  • I am a Student living in a Residence Hall

    (Applies to students living in Dundee, Pentland Hills, Lothian, Aberdeen-Inverness)

    Dining Plans are required for students living in Residence Halls and are automatically bundled with their Housing contracts. They are primarily intended for use at our two Residential Restaurants to help students best build a connection with fellow students in their cohort at UCR. They also include an allotment of Dining Dollars to use at Dining venues throughout campus.

    Meal Swipes Are Accepted at The Barn! UCR dining plan holders can swipe to order a Grill Combo, which includes any Burger or Sandwich, (1) Side, and a Fountain Beverage. Or try our new Hot Table station and order a Hot Table Combo, which includes a choice of protein, (2) sides, and a Fountain Drink. (Nov 15th, 2022)

    Highlander Unlimited

    The Ultimate

    Unlimited meal swipes means you can visit a Residential Restaurant in Glasgow & Lothian whenever it’s open for a full meal or a healthy snack. Dining plan holders can also use their meal swipes at The Barn. It’s perfect for those who love flexibility or eat multiple meals daily. The Highlander Unlimited Plan includes unlimited meal swipes with $60 in Dining Dollars and four guest passes per quarter.

    Highlander 150

    Tasty and Thrifty

    The perfect mix of affordability and practicality. The plan includes 150 delicious Residential Restaurant meals each quarter. The Highlander 150 includes 150 meal swipes plus $150 Dining Dollars and six guest passes per quarter.

    Student Dining on the Patio

    Dining Dollars 

    You can buy Dining Dollars as needed, and at a discount too! Purchase $55 Dining Dollars for just $50 (a 10% discount); or purchase $115 Dining Dollars for $100 even (that’s 15% off !). Dining Dollars roll over quarter-to-quarter and expire at the end of the academic year in June.

  • I am a Student living in a Campus Apartment or Family Housing

    (Applies to currently enrolled students living in Glen Mor, North District, Falkirk, Stonehaven, Bannockburn Village, The Plaza, Oban Family Housing)

    Dining Plans for students living in Glen Mor are automatically bundled with their Housing contracts. All other Campus Apartment residents can choose to opt-in to one of the Dining Plans below by:

    Highlander Unlimited

    Unlimited meal swipes means you can visit a Residential Restaurant whenever it’s open for a full meal or a healthy snack.     Half and Half

    A smaller meal plan for those who like to cook and like to eat out. The plan allows 50 meal swipes per quarter, plus $210 Dining Dollars per quarter to spend at any campus venue or market. Not available to students in the Residence Halls.

    The Market

    Best for Cooks

    If you enjoy cooking in your own apartment, the Market Plan provides $300 in Dining Dollars per quarter and no meal swipes. Not available to students in the Residence Halls.

    The Community Dining Plan

    The Community Dining Plan provides convenience, flexibility, and value for students living in Campus Apartments. Enrolled undergraduate and graduate students living in Campus Apartments and Family Housing are eligible for the Community Dining Plan (Glen Mor residents are not eligible to purchase the Community Dining Plan). Students can purchase the Community Dining Plan online or pay in person by visiting the Highlander Service Station.

  • I am a Student commuting from off-campus

    The Community Dining Plan

    The Community Dining Plan is an excellent way for students living off-campus to enjoy delicious and convenient meals on the way to class or meet up for lunch with friends. Enrolled undergraduate and graduate commuter students are eligible for the Community Dining Plan.  Students can purchase the Community Dining Plan online or pay in person by visiting the Highlander Service Station.

  • I am Faculty or Staff

    The Community Dining Plan

    Faculty and staff can enjoy savings and convenience while dining on campus! The Community Dining Plan includes 25 meal swipes accepted at our all-you-care-to-eat residential resturants Glasgow & Lothian. The Community Dining plan costs $350 (excluding tax), only $14 per meal! You can sign up for the Community Dining Plan anytime throughout the academic year. The Community Dining Plan is loaded onto your R’Card for the ultimate convenience while dining on campus. For a la carte purchases, employees may use their credit/debit cards. 

    Faculty and staff can purchase the Community Dining Plan online or pay in person by visiting the Highlander Service Station

  • Request a Dining Plan Change

    Request a Dining Plan Change

    The Dining Plan selected is for the entire academic year. Changes are permitted during the first two weeks of the academic year only. A Dining Plan Change Request Form needs to be completed, and all instructions on documentation need to be followed. Submit a Dining Plan Change Request Form at your respective RSO. . Residence Hall and Glen Mor residents are required to have a Dining Plan - please allow two weeks for your request to be processed. 

    Changes are permitted during the first two weeks of the academic year only.
